I originally did these socks this single sock when I first got my EFG sock loom from DA Looms last summer. I had a hard time manipulating the yarn around the loom, what with being extra fine guage. I do plan to order another sock loom, but this time it will be Fine Gauge, not EXTRA fine! Maybe then I can work with it better. I had used a yarn that is slightly heavier than fingering weight, but it was still to heavy.
So, now I’m making another sock attempt. This time I’m using the same EFG loom, but I’m using fingering weight yarn. I really wish I had the extra cash to buy some nice sock yarn… probably would work best with this loom. I’ll post WIP pics as I go along. I just finished the cast on, so there really isn’t anything to see at this point. The pattern is from Isela Phelps (DA Looms). Only problem is, the loom I have is 60 pegs, and the pattern is written for 36, 40, 48, 56, 64, 68, 76, and 80 peg looms. I keep messing up the count where the turn is for the toe area to decrease and increase… I should probably try to contact her to see if she can clarify it better for me. I’ve even tried to write out notes for each row for the toe, but keep messing that up too.
